Gothic Lolita Fashion
Gothic Lolita is a Harajuku street fashion. A post-modern vision of rococo decadence and victorian elegance, lolita merges innocence and macabre, sweet and urbane, femininity and feminism, in a surprisingly reflection of our times. Whether taking afternoon tea in chic salons or enjoying a night out at the trendiest club, lolitas are both at ease and incongruous.

CO Gothic & Lolita society is at it again! Join us for fun at Nan Desu Kan, held Sept 14-16th 2012. Put your coordination skills to the test to compete for a cute prize! This is a special coordination competition!

Three teams of three people compete against each other. Each has a lolita model with 8-10 items of her own wardrobe (shoes included), and a changing booth provided by us. Accessories are UNLIMITED! The judge of the game has a pile of cards with themes on them (Sweet Tea Party, Lolita at a funeral, Work Lolita, At the Ball, etc). She draws one, reads it aloud, then the teams have 10 minutes or less to create an outfit with the wardrobe pieces they brought. Models are encouraged to wear a tank top/bloomers underneath for modesty; team members are also allowed to leave their station while they change for privacy.

When the round is over, three judges give a quick critique and pick their favorite team, earning a point. An extra point comes from the crowd (audience favorite) to avoid ties. As the rounds continue, each team has less and less time to get ready. (Ex: Round 1 is 10 mins, Round 2 is 7 mins, Round 3 is 5 mins, etc.) The number of points increase for each round, since they are put on a time crunch to finish! Team members will also be judged on how they "present" their lolita to the crowd! The team with the most points wins the battle, and a special prize!

Post here, or over at The Facebook Event Page if you are interested in participating as a model or a team member for this year's game!

Hello, My name is Saskia, and I will be moving to Boulder at the start of next month to attend CU!  I was wondering if there were any lolitas in Boulder? Or if there are any meets held near by?

Thank you!

Hello lolitas!

I am selling six years' worth of Japanese goods. There are some fashion pieces (more toward visual kei than lolita although the two are often mixed) but most of it is music related (actually the clothes are too, they were my concert outfits). I have more Gackt, L'Arc, indies goods etc. than you will find anywhere outside of Japan. We're not just talking about DVDs and CDs (although I have tons of those) I lugged back a towel from hyde's solo tour, a Gackt mouse pad, posters and wristbands and photographs and folders and fans and concert pamphlets and more. If you aren't a gothic lolita and include pop in your diet, I have you more than covered. If Johnny's Entertainment put it on the market before 2006, chances are that I bought it. I also have enough random singles that whether you like Tommy February, B'z, Black Biscuits or El Dorado, I have something that you might like.

I've made a promise to myself to get all of it out the door by the end of the month. Prices are negotiable and as I haven't even finished photographing it all, I haven't started pricing it either. If you'd like a sneak peak: click here. I would LOVE to avoid shipping and thus would adore it if any of you local ladies (or gents) want anything and can just come pick it up. Drop me a line if you see anything you want or if you are curious as to whether that obscure Lychee single you've been hunting for is in my possession (hint: it is).

Long time no see Lolitas!

I hope you don't mind me dropping in. I joined this group a few years ago and I really fell out of Lolita because I was busy.  But I'd like to try and get back into it. c: I'm still very new to Lolita, but as creepy as it is I often see you guys at conventions admiring from a far. -you all look lovely btw- I really hope none of you remember me..i was...awful.

But anyway, I hope to make a better impression and brush up on Lolita!
As I said I'm new and haven't yet purchased a whole outfit. I did buy a lovely apron and wig, but I'm looking to invest in a nice petticoat. However I'm worried about bad sellers/fabrics.

Does anyone know where to get a good petticoat? Maybe some tips on how do keep them nice and fluffy?
I really like bell shaped dressed so something good for those would be great.

Just in case anybody doesn't know there will be a meet-up this weekend, on the fifteen, in Denver all the info is here....
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=247659241952237
I also wanted to post to see if there are any Lolitas in or around Colorado Springs who would like to do a meet-up that day as well because there is a Japanese cultural festival going on down here, sorry it is kinda last minute but i just found out about it. If you are planning to go to the denver meet we could meet a few hours before the Denver meet-up starts.
I also was think of planning a very casual meet-up in C-Springs, just so new Lolis or those who are scared to come can come. I was thinking of going to see a movie then getting frozen yogurt. I am hoping to make it very casual, so that even if you don't feel that you are a new Lolita who doesn't have a lot of lolita stuff can come, or people who are interested in the fashion but don't have any clothes yet can come. I just want the community to come together since it has been kinda dead lately .
Thanks for reading-Mariah

Hey, I'm a new Lolita in the Boulder area, are there any others around here? I was wondering if anyone would like to hang out on Pearl Street or something.
